Greens Update 16/11/18

It’s been a busier week than normal for the Green staff with the new water system around the 18th green, 9th green and 6th green, and 1st tee area now being dug in. This has also allowed the drainage ditches to be cleared around this area too.

Mats have been placed on certain holes and we ask members to please tee up on the mats without exception.

Over the course of the next few days ALL Temporary Greens will have cups placed in them, just in case we have to use them at short notice.

Rake and Play is now in operation in ALL bunkers and the rule regrading this was sent out a couple of days ago.

If you are playing the course this weekend you will notice a new feature up near the 10th Green / right hand fairway past the trees running parallel to the 17th fairway.
Some months ago Brett shared an idea with us, to construct a small raised mound separating the 10th fairway from the green, running down the side of the 17th right hand side fairway.
This will help redirect water that normally runs / cascades from the 10th green, down to the middle of the 17th fairway making it extremely wet to play off.
The material used will be smoothed and seeded and will be ready for the start of the new season next year. Hopefully with the current warm weather we are having we may even get seed germinating sooner.
So with these new workings in mind, if your ball lands in this area of GUR please take compulsory relief.
